Valencia CF will return to Mexico to face the Mexican national team this coming Sunday, 13 October at 4:00 am CET (Saturday 12 at 8:00 pm Mexico time). Numerous Mexican players have played for Valencia CF, including Lucho Flores and Andrés Guardado at Valencia CF; Mónica Flores, Sofía Álvarez and Jimena López at Valencia CF Femenino.

In 1988, after winning the runners-up spot in the Mexican League with Pumas and being the top scorer with 30 goals in 37 games, Luis Flores joined Valencia CF in what would be his second spell in LALIGA -the first was with Sporting Gijón, coinciding with Eloy Olaya-. His career at the Club lasted one season (1988-1989) in which he played 42 games, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists.
Another Mexican player who has played for Valencia CF is Andrés Guardado. The midfielder from Guadalajara joined Valencia CF in May 2012 with Mauricio Pellegrino as coach. Guardado, in addition to playing as a midfielder, also contributed to the team as a left-back.
In his first season as a Valencianista player, he scored 1 goal and provided 6 assists in 50 games. In his second season, he played with Miroslav Djukic on the bench.
With the Serbian coach, Guardado played 24 games and gave 1 assist. In the winter transfer window, he went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season. After that and before the start of the season, Guardado was loaned to Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season. After that and before the start of LALIGA 2014-15, he went out on loan to PSV Eindhoven.

Valencia CF Femenino has had three Mexican players throughout its history. Mónica Flores, a native of Livingston (New Jersey, US) joined the Club in 2018 from Notre Dame Women's Soccer of the NCAA in the United States. In the two years that she wore the Valencia CF strip, she also stood out for her charitable work. The Mexican player collaborated with Casa Caridad, from the first moment of her arrival, to help the most disadvantaged people.
Sofía Álvarez joined the club in January 2022 after a spell with Querétaro FC Femenil. The right-back spent one season with the club. The third player from Mexico to join our ranks was Jimena López, who joined Valencia CF Femenino in July 2023 on loan from OL Reign. The left-back spent one season at the Club.
Historical union between Mexico and Valencia CF
Valencia CF were pioneers in Mexico, the two tours in the sixties (1963-1966) contributed to the resumption of diplomatic relations between Spain and Mexico and brought our team closer to the local fans and to the Valencians and Valencianistas in exile in the country and contributed to the resumption of diplomatic relations between Spain and Mexico.
Sporting-wise, Valencia CF have the honour of being the first team to win at the Azteca Stadium in that inaugural tournament in which they participated alongside Atlante, Club Necaxa and Club América. The last sporting visit to the country was in 2003 to play a friendly against Toluca FC.
